The Matilda room in the evening, a canopy bed beside exposed Venetian stonework lit by a lantern

A Venetian house
on Kondylaki Street

Five rooms in a 15th-century building, a few steps from the old Venetian harbour.

Whitewashed stairwell niche with exposed Venetian stonework, an old oil lamp and dried flowers Original Venetian stone wall beside a small table with a bottle of Cretan wine

Five centuries of stone, five rooms of welcome

The Venetians built this house in the 15th century. It was a family home until 1982, when we opened its doors to travellers.

In 1995 we renovated the interior and kept what makes it special: the Venetian façade, the stone arches, and the old walls that still show through the plaster. We are the owners and we run the house ourselves, so ask us anything, from the best table for dinner to the quietest beach for the day.

Choose your room

Every room has a private bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a fridge, a kettle and a coffee maker, with towels, linens and toiletries included. The house has stairs and no lift.

Bistro tables and plants on the roof garden, with old-town rooftops and a glimpse of the sea

Evenings on the roof garden

The roof garden is shared by all our guests. Bring a glass of Cretan wine and watch the light change over the tiled roofs of the old town and the sea beyond.
